Receptions were held in Olympia, WA for Adrienne's large extended family and in Los Angeles for our close friends here (click on either city to see pictures). Eventually, we'll have one in Fort Lauderdale, FL for all of Chris's friends. More information will be mailed out once we figure out when the Fort Lauderdale gathering will take place. The couple has registries at both Amazon.com and Bed, Bath and Beyond.com. ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS ![]() To see more Engagement Photos, CLICK HERE THEIR STORY ![]() Adrienne and Chris were introduced by a mutual friend (Thanks, Jenn!) on Saturday, February 18, 2006, at Birds, a local restaurant & bar in the heart of Hollywood. Adrienne was out with her girlfriends (The Dirty Girls) whooping it up (i.e. getting plastered and dancing on the bar). Chris and a few of his pals stopped in for a drink before heading next door to catch a comedy show at the Upright Citizens Brigade, where he witnessed a guy take a pooh on stage eewww!! After the show, Chris and the gang headed back to Birds for a few more drinks and thats when the sparks between them really started to fly! They both have different versions of what exactly happened that night, but suffice to say, they managed to exchange numbers and came away feeling like they had met someone pretty cool. Several long phone conversations and a week later, they had their first date (February 26, 2006). It would be many more dates before anything [ahem] interesting started to happen. But by their seventh month together, they were madly in love and decided to co-habitate. HOW HE POPPED THE QUESTION ![]() Just three days shy of their one-year anniversary, Adrienne flew to Florida to be with Chris, where he was nursing his mom back to health after her open-heart surgery. Little did she know what surprise he had in store for her. They were celebrating their first anniversary with a scrumptious four-course meal of fondue, when Chris suggested a post-dinner walk on the beach. Being the beach lover she is, Adrienne quickly agreed. The weather was perfect a light breeze was blowing, the stars were out, and the moon was a silver sliver in the sky. Bare foot and hand-in-hand, they strolled down the beach. Chris stopped and gave Adrienne a big hug, saying how much he loved her. She said she loved him back. He asked Forever and ever? She replied Forever and ever. Good, because I have a question to ask you. Chris pulled a tiny black box from his pocket, got down on one knee in the sand, and as he opened the box, he asked Adrienne Will you marry me? All she could think was oh my god!! and after several long seconds she finally answered: ABSOLUTELY! and fell down into the sand next to him. He explained that the ring had belonged to his grandmother, Yaya, and that while Adrienne was getting ready for dinner that night, hed snuck away and called her dad to ask his permission to propose. We can all assume Mr. Norquist said yes.
